Good Ole Boys Bass Club of Central New York
|
Oneida Lake Sunday, July 5th 2009 Sponsored by All the members of the GOB Bass Club would like to thank Matt and Mandy, the proprietors of "The River Rat Bait and Tackle" in Brewerton for their hospitality during this tournament. This year we launched from The River Rat Marina and Tackle shop in Brewerton. Blast off time was 6:30 a.m..
Off into the sunrise. It was just another great day to be fishing.
T.J. Church and Aaron Sheldon somewhere in the lake. For most of the members, finding the fish was hard.
Tom Church and Frank Doll are there also. After talking to all the members after the tournament we figured that the wind and rain over the last week moved the bait fish off shore, and the bass followed.
Dave Donhauser and Chris Cartwright.
But, if you found the fish, they were schooled up
and easy to catch. Guy Cromp digs in to get his bass. We returned to the "River Rat" at 1:30 and started the weight-in. In the background you can see the cameraman from E-Media Services. He was filming for a New York based fishing show that will be shown on Time Warner channel 26 sometime this fall.
The film crew from E-Media moves in to take some video of the fish.
Frank Doll wins the "Just out of the money" award, a new IM-8 rod, sponsored by Bass Pro Award given by Dick Hyde from Bass Pro.
Dick Hyde from Bass Pro presents the Bass Pro Big Bass Award to Jack Laughery. Bass Pro has generously donated a $25 gift card for the "Lunker" award. Jack Loughery wins this award this week with a 3.79 pound smallmouth bass. (Sorry, no picture of the big bass this week. Jack had released it before we could get a picture.
Aaron Sheldon takes 5th place.
Joe Valerio takes 4th place.
Jack Loughery takes 3rd place.
2nd place goes to Connell Raate.
In 1st place this week is T.J. Church. T.J. Church is the winner.
How did T.J. do it? T.J. , a co-angler, started out in the morning throwing a Yo-Zuri - Rattling Vibe in the "ghost" pattern from the back of Aaron Sheldon's boat. T.J. fished this lure all day in 12' of water and culled many smaller bass. The River Rat Tackle shop carries this lure if you are interested in purchasing one.
Again we want to thank Matt and Mandy from the River Rat Bait and Tackle shop in Brewerton for allowing us to use their launch ramp and facilities. They carry all the popular Oneida Lake walleye and bass tackle along with live bait., They also have all the up to date fishing reports available for you if you stop in and ask. |
