Cayuga Lake is our first points tournament of the year. Cayuga Lake is one of the larger finger lakes, 38 miles in length. The lake is noted for it’s different varieties of fish. Today of course we are looking for large and small mouth bass.
We launched our boats from Union Springs, NY and blasted off at 6 AM. The weather conditions: clear skies, 75 deg. F., with a slight wind. Water temp. 65 – 70 deg. F., with a slight ripple.

We returned after fishing 7 hrs. of fishing at 1 PM. The air temp. reached 85 deg.F.. Humid with the wind blowing at 10 mph SSW. Waves reached 1 -2 feet in height.

As the weigh in began, a line of thunderstorms approached. Winds gusting to 25 – 30 mph, lightening, and heavy rain we were glad to be off the water before the weather changed.

How did Anthony win you might ask. Anthony worked the weed line in 5 – 10 feet of water, using a whacky rigged worm on a Mustad #1 size hook, no weight. Due to the rain, thunder, and lightening safety was a little more important than getting a photo of his set-up.
Each member who fished today received packets of hooks from Mustad. Thank you Mustad for sponsoring this event.
