"Early Bird for 2009"

It's the middle of October and today the weather was just perfect for fishing, with sunshine, light winds and everyone ready to go fishing.

The temperature this morning was 25 Degrees,  Burr.  We were all thinking about how nice and warm our beds were just a couple of hours ago.

We fished until 1:30 p.m., pulled the boats, and started our weigh-in in the parking lot.

Anglers line up to have their fish weighed.

After all the fish are entered and released alive, the awarding of prize money takes place.

Joe Valerio shows off his winning Big Bass.

Joe Valerio wins the Bass Pro Big Bass award, a $25.00 Bass Pro gift card plus cash by catching a 4.23 pound largemouth.

Tom Church takes 5th place.

       Tom Hudson takes 4th place.

Connell Raate takes 3rd place

Aaron Sheldon takes 2nd place

Joe Valerio  takes 1st place

And first place goes to Joe Valerio.

And now, how did Joe do it.

Joe worked a Bass Pro swim bait close to shore. The bait was rigged with a Mustad swim bait hook and had a 1/8 oz weight attached to it.
