This was our first points tournament for 2007.  As a club we are trying something new. We did a paper for points along with a hole tournament.  This required all fish that were caught to be measured, length recorded, and the fish immediate released.  At the weigh in everyone entered their 5 longest fish and points were awarded by inches.

If you check the tournament standings you will find them listed by weights.  How we did this was by taking the inches and converting them to pounds by using the NYS DEC "weigh your fish with a ruler" web page.

Because we had 13 boats, the lake was divided into 13 holes.  Boaters drew a starting hole number.  They would start there and fish the allotted time (32 mins.). The tournament director would blow a horn and the boats would advance to the next hole until all fishing holes were fished.

The lake was calm until 11 AM and then a light south west breeze came up. This lake is very similar to the impoundments of the south. Shallow and stained water. A good practice lake for anyone thinking of playing with the big boys down south.

We noticed that Santa must have been good to some members of the club as new Nitro boats showed up on the tournament scene.

Congratulations Chris, Be sure to thank Tom.

How did Chris do it.

Chris worked the arrow head weeds along the shore line using a white spinner bait with Colorado blades. He changed back and forth also using a white Venom tube, a # 3/0 Mustad hook, and a tru-tungsten weight. Something white was the answer for today.
