Trout Fishing Pond
March 9 and 10, 2013
Our club along with the Jr. club members were at Bass Pro Shops of Auburn on a two fold mission:
1)Our Jr. Members, their parents, and the advisers; helped to oversee the trout fishing pond that was set up for this weekend.
The trout pond allows youngsters the opportunity to experience the joy of fishing. This also allows the Jr.’s to work with the public in helping out in this endeavor. Thus both the Jr.’s and the youngsters visiting gain from this interactive experience.
The trout were obtained by Bass Pro Shops of Auburn from the Carpenters Fish Hatchery which is located nearby in Onondaga County and is part of the Onondaga Co. Parks Dept.. The trout will be returned to the fish hatchery and many will be released at a later date to help stock the trout streams of Onondaga County.
2) The Sr. club members were allowed to set up a raffle table to help raise money for two of our projects. a) Raise money for our conservation program of fish line recycling. b) Help off set the costs of sending a 6 man team to participate in the NYS Bass Federation’s Club Team Championship.
At the end, Robin Piedmonte from Bass Pro Shops of Auburn was asked to draw the winning tickets for the tackle boxes and quilt that were given away as prizes
Once again we would like to thank Bass Pro Shops of Auburn for supporting both our clubs.
