The clubs end of the season Classic took place on Oneida Lake and Oneida River.
Day 1 took Place on Oneida Lake. The bite had been tough for all who spent time pre-fishing. Tournament day showed better results than all the reports. Bill Peck brought a 5 fish limit to the scales that went 16.92 pounds and took the day 1 lead. Chris Sperling caught a 4.96 pound bass to the scales to take the day 1 Bass Pro Shops Big Bass!!
Day 2 we moved from our scheduled waters of Oneida Lake to the Oneida River because of predicted winds of 10-15 mph out of the East. We launched day 2 on the river at the 481 bridge, 3 Rivers launch. Most of the anglers made their way down the river to Onondaga Lake. Chris Sperling was able to bring 13.01 pounds to the scale on day 2 to take the Classic title with a combined weight of 26.09 pounds. Sperling also captured the Bass Pro Shops Big Bass of day 2 with a 3.72 pound largemouth. Don Bell brought in 13.46 pounds on day 2. That gave Bell a 2 day total of 20.95 pounds and good enough for 2nd place. Third place for the Classic went to Kevin Stone with a 2 day total of 20.54 pounds. 4th place went to day 1 leader, Bill Peck. Peck totaled 20.44 pounds for the 2 days. Bass Pro Shops “Just Out Of The Money” went to Bill Kays with a 2 day total of 18.14 pounds. Kays brought the largest bag to the scales on day 2 – 14.04 pounds.
The Classic settled the race for AYO titles in the Boater and Co-Angler divisions. Chris Sperling took the Boater title with 196 point out of a possible 200!! Thats 4 second place and 1 first place finishes!! The Co-Anglers end with a tie for AOY. Jack Wilson and Fred Truax both finished the season with 163 points.
The club will be sending the following anglers to the 2019 NYBF Club Team Championship!!
