Trout pond at Bass Pro Feb 29th, March 1st,& 2nd 2008
This year our club was asked, and we willing agreed to man the trout pond at the Bass Pro in Auburn N.Y. starting off the Bass Pro fishing classic event.
Good Ole Boys member Eric Wilsey unhooks a fish for a youngster. This year the pond was open at no cost to all women and youngsters under the age of 16. All fish that were caught were released unharmed and placed back in the "trout pond". After the weekend these trout were returned to a regional fish hatchery, where they will later be used to restock streams in the Central New York area.
Bass Pro Promotions Manager, George Fiorille presents a youngster with a $ 5.00 Bass Pro Gift Card for the fish that he caught. A time limit of 15 minutes was used so that everyone had a chance to fish. All of those that caught one or more fish were given a gift card compliments of Bass Pro Shop of Auburn. Bass Pro, "Makes a Wish" come true!
We were pleased to have a "make at wish" youngster attend. Besides receiving gifts from Bass Pro, he and his family were given the opportunity to fish the trout pond for a period of time by themselves.
Bass Pro General Manager Greg Bulkey and the "Make a wish" youngster. Along with fishing here, he will be going to Florida soon to fish with Roland Martin.
Bass Pro employees let the youngster "drive the boat" When the weekend was over, everyone had a great time. Club members had the greatest time of all, being able to help the customers of Bass Pro discover the joy of fishing. Thank you Bass Pro for allowing us to participate in this great endeavor. |
